Frequently Asked Questions

Why use a consultant?

The most common reasons to use a consultant include:

  • Filling short-term staffing needs
  • Filling interim roles until  permanent staff is placed
  • Assignments that require highly-specialized knowledge and experience
  • Staffing for projects that are outside the core of your business offerings
  • To meet requirements for audits, assessments, and surveys
  • Buying products and services that are already developed and proven to meet business needs.

How does consulting add value?

By the nature of the consulting profession, the average consultant works in more organizations and industries than other professions in the span of a career.

Consultants provide experience, knowledge, and perspective that is difficult to find in resources in other professions.

When should I consider using a consultant?

If the project is outside of your core business offering, it usually makes financial sense to outsource to a consultant or consulting firm. Using consultants can reduce the development, implementation and execution time and lower costs.

Also, any project or initiative, even if it is your core business offering, that requires specialized knowledge and experience, you should consider using consultants.

We don’t want to become dependent on a consulting firm. How does AGI keep that from happening?

As much as we love our clients, we don’t want you dependent on us either!

In every consulting engagement, we work with your subject matter experts as an ongoing knowledge transfer. This makes our transition out of your business smooth and also keeps costs down over the course of the project.

Although the consulting profession can have a reputation of building dependency and billing recurring fees, AGI does consulting differently.

We believe we have failed if you become dependent on us once you’ve achieved defined milestones.

Our clients keep bringing us back, but for new career and business challenges – not to continue to support challenges we’ve solved.

AGI specializes in a wide-range of consulting services. These include:

Depending on your goals, we leverage many components across all of our consulting services to customize the perfect solution for your business or career.

THE TRANSITION...

Personal > Business > Financial > Relationships

It's that time of year again, folks!  Kids are getting ready for the summer, some are graduating, he's beginning a new summer job, you're planning an "epic" vacation getaway, she's welcoming a little one to the family!  Whatever transition you are facing, be sure to reach out to your CFP to make the transiton a smooth one.   We all know a little too well that life never let's ALL plans go off without a hitch.  Because we know life likes to throw "curve balls", we are here to make certain that you are prepared for all types of "pitches" and wearing the right "gear".

Okay.  Okay.  Let's try this without the sports analogy.  Why walk into these new phases of life with limited information? You end up leaving yourself the impossible task of trying to enjoy this new chapter in life, all while getting hit by  wild pitches without any protective gear.  Chances are you'll get thrown out of the game due to injury, find yourself bandaging scrapes and bumps, while that big exciting "thing" you planned went on without you.  Now, you're upset with the other players, yourself, but mostly...your COACH.  Why didn't your coach tell you that you'd need protective gear?  Why didn't Coach have you practice catching every type of pitch? Why weren't you prepared? That's where we come in.  This is a journey we WANT to take together.  Rather, we'd like to walk along side you on this journey and be the Coach on the sidelines, helping guide you to a homer!

Our apologies, you will come to find that we love sports on this team.  It's inevitable that you will find sports analogies in all that we do.  It's a great way to keep everyone on the bench paying attention (had to throw one in!).
